Whatever path you choose, Fire Emblem: Three Houses is an absolute blast. It’s the best Fire Emblem title since Awakening, and it goes straight onto my list of must-play Switch games.

It has a great division of labor between its school and battlefield segments. The characters are all quite likeable. The three storylines are different enough to beg additional replays, as is the promise of knowing everyone has unseen potential to become the units you want them to be. It’s a fantastic game that will easily become one of the NIntendo Switch’s most memorable titles.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is ambitious, and takes more chances than previous entries in the series. The way it lets your role as professor play into both the narrative and gameplay is nothing short of fantastic. This is the most I’ve ever cared about my Fire Emblem characters, and that’s incredibly high praise.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is an inspired innovation of a time-tested franchise, providing the same tactics fans love in a much more inviting package.

The most ambitious videogame in the Fire Emblem series, with three campaigns and more than 100 hours of gameplay. If you want RPG tactical turns, this is one of the best options.

For me, Fire Emblem is just the right mix of brains, excitement, love, suffering and tactical thinking.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is not a bad game - it starts off strong and for some reason systematically unpicks everything by the time you’re 30 hours in. The battle system is fairly impressive but still carries some of the flaws the series has had for the past decade, and the writing of the central cast feels like a step back compared to the 3DS series’ entries.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The best Fire Emblem game I have ever played (and I have played them all). The storyline was so much darker than it usually is, and everything was just much more adult. The schooling system was an incredible way of improving on the base system they had in fates. The removal of the waifu Sim and kids was awesome as well. Best game I have played in a long time. Expand

Having completed 1 route so far in my playthrough, I can tell you I will continue to spend my hours with the other routes on the game. Obnoxious characters and boring story line make this game not worth playing. Avoid.
