Diablo III excels in this handheld version and its full edition shows how much work and new content the authors have put in it after the release. In addition, its coop is fun. [Issue#291]

It’s insane. It’s absolutely insane. Utter havoc. It’s what makes Diablo 3 the preeminent action RPG, even if there are newer and arguably better designs out there. I still grin, shake my head, and marvel at Blizzard’s ability to fuse charm, character, and technical prowess. They are the masters of swirling cartoonish videogame power fantasies, they belong on the Switch, and they’re here at last.
  3. Nov 16, 2018
Diablo III on Switch is simply spectacular. It’s a phenomenal port that really shows what the Switch is capable of, and honestly, I think it might just be my favourite version of the game yet.
  4. Oct 30, 2018
Seriously, I can’t recall ever seeing the game hitch up or slow down, whether docked or undocked, which is a huge plus.
  5. Nov 3, 2018
A shocking story, a great soundtrack, an excellent multiplayer and an almost infinite replayability make Diablo III: Eternal Collection an essential Nintendo Switch game.
  6. Nov 15, 2018
Once again Nintendo’s little machine is getting love that the Wii U never got from third party developers and we are seeing so many great games make the transition to the Switch, with Diablo 3 being the best of the bunch so far, a near perfect port with an endless amount of content to keep you happy for as long as you like. If you own a Switch then you owe it to yourself to pick up Diablo 3 and go Devil hunting.
  7. Oct 31, 2018
In the end, with Diablo III being a game that millions have played over the years one might think it strange to refer to this port as essential or exceptional. But, in playing Diablo in handheld mode one quickly realises that the core experience, the flow, the skill and item-based action-RPG combat, is some of the best the genre has ever seen. Also, it’s a style perfectly suited to the on-the-go nature of the Switch. So, being able to take Diablo III with you wherever you go for a quick rift or bounty or two or three – is well-worth it.

Diablo 3 being portable, makes the Switch version the definitive one. Whether you like to play it in short bursts or in long sessions, the portability of the Switch makes anything possible. It really feels great either way. With a stable framerate and graphics that look awesome for a portable console, Diablo 3 gets a new life on the latest Nintendo console. And it rocks once again!

Diablo III veterans looking to return to the fray will want to give the Switch iteration a try, and for newcomers, this is the ideal entry point. [Issue #37 – January/February 2019, p. 72]

The Eternal Collection refines the very best of the series by including all past updates, and through its savage yet extravagant gameplay, ensures that there is a huge amount of replayability to be had.
  12. Dec 12, 2018
Diablo III: Eternal Collection is a fantastic addition to the Nintendo Switch lineup, and if the years of popularity isn't enough to go by, the vast amount of play styles and options offered by the game should suit the preferences of the many. I recommend the game to all types of gamers, as it's accessible in so many ways. The Nintendo Switch also upholds every aspect of the traditional Diablo experience, so long-term fans of the series need not worry about moving over to the handheld version. If anything, I recommend it for its versatility.
  13. Dec 4, 2018
In the end, Diablo 3 is an excellent game in its own right. It’s fun, addicting to play and rewarding for the players that want to grind out the best gear. Throw in the accessibility factor of the Nintendo Switch, and its safe to say that it’s my preferred play to play. No, it doesn’t look as good. But for a game that came out in 2012, you can’t expect the most jaw-droppingly gorgeous game out there. As far as non-1st party games are concerned, Diablo 3: Eternal Collection is a must-play on the Nintendo Switch.
  14. Nov 29, 2018
Demon-slaying may feel simplistic compared to Monster-Hunting, but as the pioneer of the co-op loot-chasing dungeon crawler, Diablo III: Eternal Collection is the definitive article on the Switch, packing a wealth of content and variety of ways to slay.
  15. Nov 21, 2018
This is the handheld version of Diablo that will please everyone. Diablo III: The Eternal Collection on Switch is a very successful and solid port of the 2012 game with all its content and updates. This is one of the best hack slash ever made, promising dozens and dozens hours of fun exploring, killing and looting in a magnificent dark fantasy world and the fact that you can play it anywhere and with anyone so easily makes it just irresistible.
  16. Nov 9, 2018
Diablo III Eternal Collection is the best version of a classic game, and on Nintendo Switch it makes more sense than ever, whether playing alone or with others.
  17. Nov 8, 2018
Diablo III lands on the Nintendo Switch, under the name of an Eternal Collection that brings two expansions to the original game. In what is without a doubt a magnificent adaptation of a monument of a game, players will find an immense challenge that will be accessible for beginners and compelling for veterans, with content that will easily reach over one hundred hours of gameplay, a top notch multiplayer component and the added handheld character of the Nintendo Switch. One of the finest games of the year to come out on Nintendo's console.
  18. Nov 7, 2018
Diablo 3: Eternal Collection is everything from the last five years squeezed into a portable package. It plays brilliantly whether docked or not, and has more content than you could ever see. This is a game that is a must-play and to have access to it anywhere is almost unbelievable.
  19. Nov 5, 2018
Diablo 3: Eternal Collection is an excellent RPG that, allied with the Switch portability, results in a perfect combination to enjoy the game’s almost limitless content.
  20. Nov 5, 2018
You’ll get blown away by all of the character customization, rummaging through enemy corpses and treasure chests for loot, journeying through procedurally generated dungeons, taking down Bounties for rewards, completing achievement-like challenges, participating in ongoing Seasons–*deep breath* You get what I mean here. There’s a lot of content waiting for players of Diablo III: Eternal Collection, and it’s very much worth investing time in on the Switch.

Diablo III in 2018 is an outstanding game, and the Switch port really does the game justice. This Eternal Collection includes all the content released for the game and all the updates that have refined it into the modern classic it is. I may have put more time into my characters on the Xbox One version, but I really think the Switch will be my platform of choice going forward. Being able to play it on the go just feels so good. Diablo III: Eternal Collection comes very highly recommended.
  22. Nov 2, 2018
Diablo III Eternal Collection is a fantastic dungeon crawler and one that feels right at home on Nintendo’s console. Blizzard’s modern-day classic still shines brightly six years after its initial release on PC and now thanks to the Switch’s portable functionality, your incessant quest for better loot will be able to continue wherever you are. Could this be the best version of Diablo III yet? I’ll just say being able to slay monsters on my commute certainly makes a strong case.
  23. Nov 1, 2018
The only criticism one may lodge at Diablo III: Eternal Collection is nothing is truly new. If you’ve already played through the complete version of the game elsewhere…and are looking for a different twist…the Switch version will offer little. Still, I challenge even these individuals to give this one a go. It’s a wonderful take, on a wonderful game, and one of the best Switch titles to date.
  24. Oct 31, 2018
The portability of the Switch elevates this version of Diablo 3 to become the best version of the game. Add the bonuses and the local online co-op between several switch consoles and you get a must buy for die-hard fans of the game, series and genre.
  25. Oct 31, 2018
Diablo III comes to Switch with a staggering amount of content comprising of every update so far, seasons, expansion Reaper of Souls and Necromancer DLC.
  26. Oct 30, 2018
Everything I could’ve asked for from a proper Switch port. The graphical downgrades are noticeable in handheld mode, but it doesn’t detract from the experience at all, especially when it runs so smoothly.
  27. Oct 30, 2018
The whole of Diablo III comes to Nintendo’s hybrid console six years after release, and while it might not be the prettiest, it is the portable-est.
  28. 90
You might not want to play more than 20 hours of Diablo III: Eternal Collection, but the time you do put in will be unbelievably entertaining.
  29. Oct 30, 2018
This is a fantastic version of one of the most addictive and satisfying games in the last decade. A must-have if you haven’t played it yet, or if you want to hunt demons at home and on the go.
  30. Oct 30, 2018
Blizzard should be commended for the gestalt that is Diablo 3: Eternal Collection. If you’ve followed Diablo 3’s history, you know the game walked a long, often bumpy path. It’s been addictive for several years, but the option to play on the go makes this package a must-have any Switch owner, especially players looking for a game to lose themselves in for dozens or hundreds of hours.
  31. Oct 30, 2018
As much as I love playing Diablo 3 on my PC, the Eternal Collection on Switch may very well be my new preferred way to play - nothing beats lounging in bed, romping through a rift with the light out while I should be sleeping - all thanks to Nintendo Switch and Blizzard Entertainment.
  32. Oct 30, 2018
The Devil is now on-demand in a very polished, content-rich port to Nintendo Switch.
  33. Oct 30, 2018
Even after all these years, I still find Diablo III’s loop of starting small and becoming a godlike force of destruction irresistible. Even without major new additions, the Switch’s portability makes it easier than ever to pop into Sanctuary, kill a few hundred monsters, and scoop up some sweet new loot.
  34. Oct 30, 2018
Diablo 3 is a game about long term goals accomplished in short, thrilling bursts. It's rewarding and subtle. It's flashy and boisterous. I have spent six years enjoying it, and will likely spend six years more. As far as video games go, that's a long time--I came into the Eternal Edition expecting a eulogy for one of my favorite games. Instead, I stumbled upon a celebration.
  35. Oct 30, 2018
Diablo III on the Switch is my new favorite way to play the game.
  36. Oct 31, 2018
Diablo III arrives on the Switch with a technically impeccable conversion, delivering the fun and the violence of the Blizzard masterpiece in the palm of your hand.
  37. Oct 30, 2018
After six years from its initial release, Diablo III still feels like a great RPG (specially local coop mode), with lots of content and a very enjoyable story.
  38. Oct 31, 2018
A fantastic version of Diablo III to enjoy, this time, on the Nintendo hybrid console. And it comes with all the current content of this title that has been designed to be replayed almost infinitely, and on almost any platform. The portable version and the possibility of playing at home are what we like the most. And least of all, the fact that we cannot cross party with our account. A small drawback to be able to enjoy a title that returns to feel like new in a new platform (and we must remember that Diablo III is a game that is already 6 years old). Almost nothing.
  39. Nov 21, 2018
Diablo 3 feels at home on the Nintendo Switch. With a constant 60 fps and the availability to play anywhere, it's a great addition to the family. The only sad part is that sSeasonal can't be played offline and the controls sometimes feel a bit clunky.
  40. Nov 16, 2018
The signs of time have indicated the return of the Prime Evils on the Nintendo Switch. The most recent version of Diablo 3 comes on the Switch, bringing all the devilishly addictive gameplay and hellishly haunting stories and lore on the go. It’s the Diablo 3 game that we all know and have loved so far, despite its graphical compromises and the lack of addition of any new content, and promises to carry players to the world of Sanctuary one last time.
  41. Nov 12, 2018
Diablo III Eternal Collection is a very good bet on the Switch thanks to its light graphics engine, the impressive load of content (everything available)and a well made gameplay that cleverly uses the controls available on the console.
  42. Nov 9, 2018
An impressive adaptation. Solid as a rock withoutappreciable loss of quality and with all the content to date.
  43. Nov 6, 2018
I can easily and wholeheartedly recommend Diablo III: Eternal Collection for the Nintendo Switch. Whether you’ve never played before or you’ve put in over a thousand hours, this game will pull you right in without a second’s hesitation.
  44. Nov 5, 2018
A great port of a great product. Diablo III on the Nintendo Switch is a must play.
  45. Nov 1, 2018
Well executed conversion of the demonic hack&slay that might not look as crisp as the other versions, but manages to conserve the spirit and the motivation cycles woven into the very fabric of the mechanics.
  46. Oct 30, 2018
The PS4 version is still the best, but we’re down to the nitty-gritty of which one looks better to reach that verdict and, honestly, to many players the difference will be an acceptable trade-off for the ability to play Diablo 3 on a handheld.
  47. Oct 30, 2018
Smoother than ever, Diablo III is in particulary good shape on Switch. Despite some visual concessions, Blizzard provided a game you can play everywhere with the same quality that's on the PS4/One versions.
  48. Oct 30, 2018
A very solid port with very good results in terms of framerate. Although image quality and resolution are not at their best, it’s a sacrifice to make in order to play Diablo III on the go.
  49. Nov 5, 2018
All things considered, if you're into Diablo, Diablo III: Eternal Collection may be one of the better versions due to its flexibility and options. If you're not into Diablo, this may be the best place to start. While it's good for what it is, bear in mind that it can become a frustrating and repetitive loot-escapade that can drag you into hell.
  50. Blizzard's best action role playing game comes to Nintendo Switch. Now we can experience the better co-op mechanics with Joy-Con controller. Also Diablo 3's Nintendo Switch version includes all the game's downloadable contents.

The best and the most complete of all console editions of Diablo III – and you can play it anywhere. Who needs Diablo Immortal? [01/2019, p.65]
  52. 80
One of the best Switch ports so far, both technically and in terms of how handheld mode enhances and compliments the original gameplay.
  53. 80
Even without a character transfer feature, Diablo 3 continues to be a wonderful game that plays perfectly on the Nintendo Switch.
  54. Oct 31, 2018
Diablo 3 on the Switch may be a graphical step-down and far from the best place to play multiplayer, but if you’re looking for the perfect platform on which to sink into the end-game grind by yourself – there is no place better to play it.
  55. Oct 31, 2018
Diablo 3 presents itself on Switch with a version that establishes the right balance between technical compromises and enjoyment of the experience.
  56. Oct 30, 2018
Diablo III Eternal Collection is a comprehensive package that bundles together all the new content and reworked mechanics Diablo III has seen over the years, which works incredibly well on the Switch’s limited hardware. It’s just a shame some control schemes aren’t as engaging to play with.
  57. Oct 30, 2018
It’s Diablo 3 on the go! The added local multiplayer functionality and the fact that it’s a thoroughly competent port make this an easy recommendation for fans of the franchise who want a portable version, or for newcomers who want to jump in.
  58. 80
Diablo III: Eternal Collection for the Nintendo Switch represents the best way to play Diablo III right now, whether it be with friends or by yourself with whatever controllers you have. While the exclusive gear and equipment are superficial and not a sole reason to buy on the Switch, Diablo III is a perfect fit for the platform, as cliché as it sounds. Sure, it’s starting to show signs of ageing, but it still plays as well today as it did all those years ago.
  59. Oct 30, 2018
Diablo 3 is back and now you can play the complete collection wherever you go, with a bunch of new features and content.
  60. Oct 30, 2018
A lovely port of a classic RPG loot-a-thon that keeps its feet firmly in the past. The execution is wonderful, but its gameplay is not something that will appeal to everyone due to the high level of repetition. Its visuals are clear and functional if not especially interesting, but performance is top notch to make up for it. If you’re looking for a loot-driven grind-a-thon with more explosions of viscera than you can comfortably discuss with your mother, this is the game for you.
  61. Oct 30, 2018
This compilation of Diablo III and its expansions underscores how far the gothic hack n' slash series has fallen.

  2. Oct 30, 2018
Online or not, Diablo 3 is one of the best games to be released this decade. There’s a reason it’s still getting ported to new systems more than six years after its debut. The pairing of Blizzard’s design and Nintendo’s hardware, both companies working at their finest, is undeniable. As someone who has been a fan of Diablo 3 since it first launched, airplane rides will never be the same again.

I didn't like D3 at launch (probably the worst launch i ever seen)

Friends of mine played a lot after ROS in seasonal HC, and i came back to play with them, i enjoyed it.

Now the Switch version isn't the best looking visually (mostly the characters).
Outside that it's the most enjoyable version of D3 i've seen by far.

Local MP, on the go MP are an absolute blast, Offline seasonal HC is great for farming. The game is perfect for short on the go session. You take the train, you pot the switch, you launch a rift or a bounty, you don't even the the time of the travel pass.

Regarding the control, i feel like console control are better than PC controls, directly controlling with the stick feel a lot better.

Overall, it's imo the ultimate version of D3.
