Tropico 6 is a highly addictive city and government simulator that has realistic game mechanics with an easy to use build and management interface. A marvelous, challenging, enjoyable and non complicated experience.

Tropico 6 brings a lot to the table. It is pretty to look at, easy to get started with, and offers hours of play time with its generous depth and breadth in multiple categories of human life. There are enough play modes to suit most any type of player and enough permutations to satisfy all but the most eclectic leadership style.

Despite its flaws, Tropico 6 will definitely cause you to stay up later than you should. If you’re willing to forgive the lack of structure, you can spend hours and hours building on each of the included maps. There’s even a randomized map generator once you squeeze all the fun from the included content. In this way, Tropico 6 feels like an old school PC release, but it should still appeal to a wide variety of players looking to rule the tropics with a tanned iron fist.

Tropico 6 lacks of innovations. It is a good Tropico, but it has lost part of the series magic.

A dictator usually needs a lot of charisma and preferably no people that dare to stand up to him. Tropico 6 is just like it. As city builder it's not bad, but all those statistics, menus and the weird system for building are not awesome. But hey, Tropico is still one of a kind.

Tropico 6 is entertaining fun, which guarantees many hours of management and strategy, with a well-leveled difficulty. Although it is inevitable not to think that it is a low-risk and original work.

Tropico 6 combines everything good from the previous games and refine it to perfection!. Great Game.

As a long-time fan, I am extremely impressed. They took all the elements of the previous versions I liked and kept them (or even improved them). The graphic, physics engine, voices, etc are great. I liked the tutorial a lot (played it with my friend who had never played the game before so it was easy to on-board a new player), and the new features are wonderful. The sense of humor is still there and more "on the nose" than ever given recent geo-political developments. Bravo Tropico team! Expand

Best Tropico in the series. Love the archipelagos, even if it makes it tough to grow quickly.

The missions are funny - although (I am on my fourth) I might have enjoyed a little more organic relationship to my citizens on the ground. (The story characters feel a little divorced form the pawns you mess around with). My main critique is that the game's economy means the player needs to start stop between pause and 4x speed, rather than a more consistent pacing. Expand

Same game again, no challenge, you can't lose, it's just boring....
You shouldn't get it if you've played a Tropico game before.

There are no new game play mechanics and anyone saying otherwise is lying out the wazoo. They are just the same old mechanics reshuffled and given a new skin and name while pretending that they are new. Its still a fun game and I suppose if the prices are the same you should get the newer game but if you already own 5 there is no reason to buy 6.

I completed the first 6 scenarios before getting bored and trying a sandbox game. It ended when I realized that tourism is (still) broken. Namely, despite having a population cap of 10,000, tourism has some sort of soft cap and will not rise above 300ish no matter what I do (same problem with old games). Kind of takes away from building a "resort island" idea since there is little else to do with the islands.

Here is a list of the supposed new "mechanics" as listed on their website:

ISLANDS - are mundane and adds nothing to the game. They are not a new mechanic unless you count adding a bridge and tunnel to the game as something incredible... how are they different than streets on a single island? They arent.

BROKER - replaced the old way of earning sludge fund money. All you do is complete inane quests for him similar to the old quests you got from other countries and earn sludge fund money. This is not an improvement nor worth mentioning. you then use the sludge fund money to buy various things you dont need.... The broker is useless.

RAIDS - are no different than old days but can be more frequent due to world wars. They land on your island, you annihilate them easily with just a couple of buildings and a tower. The added frequency did not add anything to the game. Rebel raids, on the other hand, are bugged and impossible to stop. They bypass towers and defenses entirely and set fires at will, then they simply disappear. Its obviously bugged but even if it worked, its just the same old mechanic. They are not a huge problem because its very easy to maintain very high happiness in the game.

BLUEPRINTS - are lazy and meaningless. Basically you bring up the building meny and click to buy a blueprint... after you do the building is unlocked. Its just a cash dump barrier and adds nothing to the game especially since its so easy to make cash.
